Rugby League 3 out in March 2010

Alternative Software releases a trailer and some new screenshots of its upcoming rugby game on the Nintendo Wii.

You may remember last August, we reported on the announcement that Rugby League 3 was in production for the Wii. Well, now it’s fast approaching its release date and we have some new game details, screenshots, as well as a trailer of the rugby league game for you all to enjoy.

Rugby League 3 will feature over 80 licensed teams from the NRL, Toyota Cup, Super League, UK Championship, UK Championship 1, State of Origin, City vs. Country, and international competitions. 38 stadium arenas will be recreated; from countries such as the UK, France, Australia, and New Zealand.

Fragile Dreams to launch next month on Wii

Rising Star Games has announced the release date of Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon to be 19th March 2010.

This exclusive title to the Nintendo Wii is set in a post-apocalyptic Japan, where gamers take on the role of a young boy named Seta; as he embarks on an adventure in search of survivors. One of the themes in the game is isolation; and as the story unfolds, you’ll have to try and make sense of this desolate world whilst fending off hostile creatures and ghosts.

The game will utilise the Wii’s motion control as the Wii Remote will act as a weapon, as well as a torch. Ghost sounds will also emanate from the Wii Remote’s speaker, further adding to the eerie and mysterious atmosphere. Use it to point at the source of a sound and you’ll be able to use it as a tool to detect key items and locations.

Gormiti: The Lords of Nature! unveiled on Wii/DS

Konami has unveiled more details on the Gormiti video game adaptation, along with thre trailer, screenshots and game details.

The children’s television show, Gormiti is the basis of Konami’s upcoming video game adaptation, using its characters and locations. Gormiti: The Lords of Nature! recreates the island of Gorm where the “Lords of Earth, Sea, Air and Forest are charged with stopping the evil Magmion from wreaking havoc”.

The action starts as a character called Razzle, while cleaning the library, accidentally knocks some old books into a Portal. These books tumble down to Gorm and land at the feet of Magmion, the evil Lava Gormiti. Magmion reads the book and learns of an old legend which talks about reuniting five sacred amulets which have been scattered across Gorm. Once reunited these amulets allow the holder to open an inter-dimensional portal to Earth! The Lords of Nature need to use all their unique powers to hinder Magmion’s plans and save Earth.

Hudson releases the latest screenshots from their upcoming horror title, Calling.

With only a few more weeks until the release of Calling, Hudson is teasing us with a few more screenshots from the latest horror game to hit the Nintendo Wii.

Mike Pepe (Director of Marketing at Hudson Entertainment) adds…

“The game is a bit of a deferment from the traditional Hudson games, and we’re really looking forward to seeing how Hudson fans receive it.”

Solve the puzzles and ‘Save The Turtles’ (with screenshots)

If you mix the phrases “thought provoking” and “puzzle game”, then the result would probably be something like this new release on the DSi, by the name of Save the Turtles.

Sabarasa have announced that this puzzle game will soon be exclusively available from Nintendo DSiWare, and it involves you solving puzzles in order to save endangered sea turtles making their way to the sea.

The game itself is set on a beach, and the vulnerable turtles must be protected from predators such as seagulls and crabs. Your job is to direct them towards the sea without them being hurt by predators, the heat of the sun or oil spillages, bringing real life environmental problems to the forefront of the players mind.

Overturn: Mecha Wars released this month

Gamebridge has announced that Overturn: Mecha Wars will be released on 12th February 2010 on the WiiWare service.

Overturn: Mecha Wars is developed by Studio Zan and is a tournament-based mech game where players go head to head in a series of battles. There are six classes of tournaments; Rookie, Novice, Elite, Ace, Grand and Master. Players will be in control of futuristic machines that are armed with high-tech weapons. Blast each other to bit using the 19 weapons that are available whilst avoiding incoming attacks.

Rytmik – DSiWare details & screenshots

Cinemax, a development studio based in the Czech Republic, has announced its upcoming music production software on the Nintendo DSi.

Rytmik is a music production application that’s scheduled for released on the DSiWare range of titles. The user interface features  a classic drum machine and a multitrack sequencer; allowing users to create melodic compositions using the built-in modern sound library. Rytmik features over 170 drum samples, cymbals, percussion and bass and melodic instruments.
