Modern Warefare 2 hits the top spot still after 6 weeks. Are we suprised? No.

Bored of all this talk about the UK music Christmas charts? Well, let me fill your stocking with some gaming news instead! The UK gaming chart for 2009 is sorted and in the bag. Lets have a look shall we.

The top spot was taken with Modern Warefare 2. After its huge anticipation, and smart ad campaign I must add, its still retained its top spot in the charts through the Christmas period. 6 weeks from the launch and having broken UK sales records it happily holds the title.

Next in the line is FIFA 10, which sits in the happy spot on Number 2.  It has seen a 24% rise in sales over the festive rush for presents helping it along. If it had managed to make it to the top spot, EA would of been happy with its 12th Christmas topper!

The comes Nintendo’s turn taking the next 2 spots. Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit Plus sit in third and forth respectively. Both of them being the hot new titles, it’s no surprise to see them doing so well. Wii Fit Plus saw a 9% rise, while Wii Sports Resort actually dropped down from second place last week.

Finally making an appearance is Assassins Creed 2, which sits happily at 5th place after dropping 2 places from last week.

All in all a fantastic Christmas line up all round. Any games you think should of been in the top 5 Place them in the usual place below!
