Frontier announces that the sequel to last year’s LostWinds is coming to WiiWare. Check out the teaser trailer and screenshots.
LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias will feature new gameplay mechanics that will feel as fresh as the original. Gamers will use the Wii remote to harness the power of the wind, and use the elemental powers of Enril the Wind Spirit to protect and guide the young boy Toku.
Toku’s mother is under an ancient curse and it’s up to Toku and Enril to thwart the evil Balasar to lift it. Use the Wii remote to power Toku’s jumps and glides, suspend and smash new enemies, and explore your stunning surroundings in the magical land of Mistralis.

The power of Nature is in the palm of your hands as you are able to instantly transform Mistralis between Winter and Summer. “ Frozen Winter ponds and waterfalls become deep, teeming Summer pools and chambers in which to dive and unlock secrets, enemies can be frozen or doused, and the very air itself used to form snowballs or moisture-laden clouds.”
Players will have new abilities, such as the cyclone; which can be used to transport Toku, smash enemies, and drill through the rocks within Mistralis’ diverse locations; like Chilling Peaks or the Melodia city areas.
David Braben, Chairman and Founder of Frontier, adds…
“LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias will delight both new and returning players… Every aspect has been extended and polished, and the major new gameplay elements dovetail perfectly to give a fantastically rich, fun, innovative experience.”
LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias is currently waiting for the release date and pricing to be determined. Stay tuned for more information on this game.
