A new mysterious platform game by Hudson Soft will be published by Konami for the Nintendo Wii. The game is currently scheduled for release in Spring 2010.
The Tower of Shadow (a working title) sees you controlling the shadow of a young boy. The shadow has one purpose in life, and that’s to scale the tower that dominates the game’s skyline. “He does not speak. Nobody knows who he is or how he came to be. He just climbs. And climbs.”
But even a shadow must abide by certain rules, and thus the player must fulfill certain criteria as they help the shadow to climb the tower. First, the shadow can only walk on the thin line between shadow and light. While he is not affected by height or distance, he must always have a shadow foothold, and he will disappear if he is fully engulfed by either the dark or the light.

The game introduces some interesting concepts to offer something new in the platform genre. For example, gravity does not behave in conventional ways. Instead, when a source of light in a stage is parallel to the ground, the shadow is pulled towards the light. The shadow is extended or reduced as the gravity shifts whenever the angle of light changes.
The shadow will not be able to physically interact with objects, but luckily, he finds company in a winged sylth known as a “Spangle”, which can do all that for him. As a result of this, The Tower of Shadow mixes platform elements with doses of puzzles with the Spangle giving support to the player.
Gamers beware, as they will realise that a giant shadow that patrols the tower is in pursuit of the shadow boy. This creative title challenges gamers to tackle the levels in unconventional ways.Filled with assailants, the levels are full of clever problems that you will have to overcome by combining the abilities of the shadow boy and the Spangle.
The Tower of Shadow (working title) is developed by Hudson Soft and published by Konami for the Nintendo Wii. It is currently scheduled for release in Spring 2010. Stay tuned.
