We Sing will be the first singing game that will utilise four microphones; bringing four “singers” together exclusively on the Wii.

Nordic Games Publishing has announced that We Sing will support up to four players simultaneously, each with their own microphone. currently scheduled for release in time for the Christmas period, We Sing is the first music-based video game that allows four singers to take to the mic at the same time.

Leading record companies such as EMI, Universal Music, and Warner Music have signed up to agreements, as have many independent record labels, so you can be sure that there will be a diverse range of tracks to play (or sing) to.

The game will feature a solo-mode, as well as a variety of party modes, allowing players to sing in a group, or against each other competitively.

Pelle Lundborg, Publishing Director at Nordic Games adds,

“Singing games are enjoyed the most when played in groups, and this has been a major focus of development since day one. The name says it all. It is about friends and family having fun and singing together, and the use of four microphones adds a new perspective…We have involved a team of music and game industry professionals to deliver a product that has a genuine AAA artist line up, and with a brief to deliver a music set that has ‘something for everyone…SingStar is the benchmark for this genre and the level of thought that they have applied to their games is astounding. It would be a compliment to be compared to them, but in reality this is the beginning of the We Sing journey, and the product will continue to develop over time…”

We Sing will be making an appearance at GamesCom 2009, and should see its retail release in time for Christmas. Expect to hear more on this title in the coming weeks.
