Disney Interactive Studios has announced that Disney’s ‘A Christmas Carol‘ will be made into a video game for the DS.

There is no set release date for the UK yet, but North America will see the game arrive in November of this year.

It is based on the re-imagined version of the film, starring Jim Carrey, and will be a adventure puzzle game, requiring players to guide Scrooge through various levels, blowing and shouting into the microphone as well as using the stylus to pull, shake, drag, rattle and tap to control different movements.

The story unfolds as the levels are completed, and there are activities such as singing carols, decorating with holiday ornaments, and cooking Christmas dinner in Tiny Tim’s kitchen. There are 14 mini games including coin tossing, performing on the piano, a snaps card game and snow ball fights, not forgetting others that allow for multi-player action.

One further novel feature, is the inclusion of a live advent calender, that unlocks surprises every day from December 1st.

Craig Relyea, senior vice president of global marketing, Disney Interactive Studios, said:

Disney’s A Christmas Carol video game will bring the story to life in a new and interactive way…This game will provide hours of festive entertainment and is destined to be an instant classic for a whole new generation of ‘Christmas Carol’ fans.”

Keep an eye out for a UK release date for this festive title.
