Terminal Reality’s Infernal Engine will be implemented in both The Strike and The Hunt, both developed by Piranha Games for the Wii.

This revelation follows Terminal Reality’s recent announcement that it would begin licensing its Engine out. The company has also teamed up with Streamlined Studios as a “content creation partner”.

The Infernal Engine (which features a particle system, a content pipeline and an “advanced” physics architecture) has been used in the Ghostbusters game, developed by Terminal Reality but the company wants to see the Engine used in more versatile ways.

The Strike is a bass fishing game that employs a fishing pole peripheral, whereas The Hunt is a hunting simulation that has a rifle accessory. Russ Bullock, President at Piranha Games, adds…

“We used the Infernal Engine to develop Bass Pro Shops The Strike. The engine was very versatile, allowing us the freedom to create immense environments with a high level of realistic detail…Most impressive is that we did not have to sacrifice the level size when we developed The Strike for the Nintendo Wii. This truly is a cross-platform engine. As well, the support we received from Terminal Reality was really impressive…”
