With the BAFTA ceremony having just taken place on 10th March 2009, at the London Hilton on Park Lane, let’s take a look at the results of the Video Games category.
In the British Academy Video Games Awards, there are 15 categories; one of which – the GAME Award of 2008 is the only award voted by the public. Over 60,000 people from all over the world took part in voting and the winner is… Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Infinity Ward/Activision).
The Best Game of 2008 award went to Super Mario Galaxy (Nintendo), which saw competition from Grand Theft Auto IV, Fallout 3 and Rock Band. It’s nice to see some titles on Nintendo formats getting nominated and even winning some awards. With 15 categories, let’s see how well they did.
