For the past few months, a huge talking point in the world of Rock Band has been talk of the sequel, the aptly named Rock Band 2, and whether the Wii version of the title will feature downloadable content.
Some reports have said that it won’t because of the poor size of the Wii’s built in file storage and lack of any form of exterior hard drive, whilst other reports have kept their minds open, hoping that downloadable content will be coming, and that the Wii version won’t miss a vital feature all of the other platforms will have.
The good news is that newspaper USA Today have reported that the feature has indeed been confirmed to be in the Wii version of Rock Band 2, making a lot of living room rockers breathe a collective sigh of relief.
While unannounced, MTV Games has confirmed that the upcoming Nintendo Wii version of “Rock Band 2” will offer the same online functionality — i.e. song downloads and Internet multiplayer modes — as the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 versions. The PS2 version, however, will not include online connectivity.
Finally some recognisation that the Wii can not only go online, but is actually able to handle some downloadable content for a game!
