Sega have recently unveiled their newest Wii exclusive Sonic game entitled Sonic and the Black Knight. Made by the same team who brought us Sonic and the Secret Rings, the game is based around a sorceress named Merlina, who summons Sonic to the mythical realm of King Arthur, but it seems the fabled monarch has somehow been corrupted and now rules the land as the tyrannical Black Knight.

The game is said to have Online item sharing with friends, new characters to the sonic universe, 2d platforming sections and what seems to be a cross between Dragon Quest Swords and Prince of Persia’s gameplay styles mixed in with the standard sonic running action.

Sonic and the Black Knight is currently scheduled for a summer 2009 release.
