According to a recent job advertisement by Nintendo, rumours are appearing all over the interest that a Wii USB HDD is soon to be appearing in a shop near you.

The advert (below) asks for the applicant to be able to “Create and executing a test plan for Wii’s USB devices”, which many people are speculating to be a USB HDD to help grant the console more space for WiiWare, save games and addition content.

Description of Duties

* Creating and executing a test plan for Wii’s USB devices
* Executing test plans with great attention to detail and documenting bugs
* Writing test procedure documents, gathering, and learning required software/hardware
* Reproducing bug reports and helping find work-arounds or resolutions

I think that while a HDD is more or less inevitable, although this advert could also mean that there are some further devices which we don’t yet know about, along similar lines as Wii Fit. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
