WiiWare was launched a couple of weeks ago, and if you are a big fan of Nintendo’s downloadable content, then I’m sure you’re starting to the same question as me, “where’s it all going to go?”.
While it’s true that the Wii can hold quite a few Virtual Console and WiiWare games (amongst other things like new channels etc), it’s starting to look more likely that a reasonably sized SD card is going to be needed by most people who are going to be taking full advantage of WiiWare and downloading as many games as they can.
But what size SD card should we be looking at getting? Just how many games can we expect to see available on WiiWare?
According to Nintendo of America’s senior director of project development Tom Prata in a recent interview with IGN, there are currently quite a few in development, so if you want to avoid having to delete and re-download your games, you might want the biggest SD card you can find:
IGN: How many WiiWare games do you have the queue?
Tom Prata: Currently, there are about 100 games in development for WiiWare at various stages of completion.
That’s a lot of games! Let’s hope that Nintendo come up with something special as a solution to possible storage space concerns.
