According to Nintendo of America’s big boss man, Reggie Fils-Aime, there’s some fresh new content coming to the Wii in the second half of this year, including a “big game for the holiday that gamers will want”, but we won’t hear about any of it until this year’s E3.
That doesn’t stop IGN’s Matt C opening his big mouth and shouting about Kid Icarus on IGN’s latest Nintendo Voice Podcast.
During the ‘cast, Matt says: “Of course [Nintendo is] going to have some E3 surprises. You know, Kid Icarus, for crying out loud, how many times do we have to say Kid Icarus? Kid Icarus is coming for crying out loud”.
He has been known to be well-in with Nintendo, and knows about a lot of things that are coming before most people, so maybe this less-then-subtle hint could be more of a heads-up from the magical things that he has seen behind the scenes.
Either way, I think it’s pretty inevitable for the big N to bring back Kid Icarus as it’s a franchise they haven’t touched in a long while, and with the capabilities of the Wii-remote, it seems to make a lot of sense to me! Guess we’ll have to wait and see…
