Those ready to enroll back in Hogwarts Castle better be excited now as EA’s Casual Entertainment Label and Warner Bros. Interactive both announced that the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game will be released later in the year to coincide with the theater release of the movie.
“We believe that the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game represents a milestone in the movie tie-in genre,” said Harvey Elliott, Head of EA Bright Light studio in the UK where the Harry Potter franchise has its home. “Building on the technological advancements of previous games in the series and with a particular focus on the unique control system of Nintendo’s Wii, the team here is working closely with the filmmakers to create an immersive interactive experience that captures the story, the action, the excitement and, above all, the fun of the film. “
This time around, Harry Potter and Professor Dumbledore are cooperating to practice and prepare for the final showdown between our hero and the sly and vile Voldemort. And during the sixth year, hormones will be raging within the schools as new love interests arise between dominant characters of the story and tragedy is also imminent. In the game, Harry will participate in many activities such as intense wizard duels, Quidditch matches, mix magical ingredients and whatnot in Potion class and more. Its the latest in soap operas!!!!!
Being developed by EA Bright Light Studio, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will release on the Wii, DS and other major gaming systems alongside the movie this fall.
