Korea Gets Wii in April

Nintendo made a huge movement in Korean video game market when launching DS Lite units soon after they built an office in South Korea and the process is about to repeat with Wii. It has been official that Nintendo’s console will launch in South Korea on April 26th for 220,000 won (224 USD).

Here are the games that will be available on the launch day:

  • Wii Sports
  • Wii Play
  • Zack & Wiki: Search for Barbaros’ Treasure
  • Rayman Raving Rabbids 2
  • Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
  • Elebits
  • Namco Museum Remix
  • Super Swing Golf Season 2

And here are the available Virtual Console titles on the launch of Wii:

  • Mario Kart 64
  • Contra III
  • Cybernator
  • Super Metroid
  • Super Mario World
  • Gradius III
  • Super Mario Bros.
  • Donkey Kong
  • Antarctic Adventure
  • Kirby’s Adventure

The prices are about the same as North American software, with VC games running around 400-800 Wii Points. Its nice to see the people of South Korea get the opportunity to have some waggle action!
