Fueled by fan excitement and many rumors, it was yesterday announced that the Sam and Max franchise will be coming to the Nintendo Wii later this year.
Before the release of the first series of episodic content through the internet, a fan petition was made to get the franchise brought to the Nintendo console. The developers and creators of the Sam & Max game have answered your prayers (and their shareholders) and now the game is finaly coming to the Wii.
The series was first released in the late 80s and became an instant indie favourite, spawning endless comics, an animated television series, an award winning web comic and a series of games, Sam and Max shows no sign of stopping after twenty years of detecting crimes.
The Sam & Max episodes let players guide the Freelance Police through a series of bizarre—and often sidesplitting—mysteries. Sam & Max Season One has already experienced enormous success, both as an episodic series available for download through Telltale’s website and other services, and at retail. Honors include Adventure Game of the Year from GameSpy and IGN, and inclusion on Games for Windows’ list of Top 10 Games in 2007.
Sam & Max Season One will include the first six episodes of the series and be available for the Wii worldwide this Autumn.
