Just when you thought Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers was dead, it has been brought back from the talk on the horizon. In a interview with Kikizo, Square Enix’s Mitsuru Kamiyama has reconfirmed the fact that Crystal Bearers is still on its way:

Kikizo: For the last CC game, you emphasised connectivity between the GBA and the GC. Now you have the Wii and the DS. Will there be any sort of connectivity between the two systems?

Kamiyama-san: There are no plans for direct connection between the Wii Crystal Bearers and the DS Ring of Fates at this time. Since Crystal Bearers is still under development, we can’t share too much about it yet. They’re entirely separate games, nothing is shared between them, although they share a similar worldview. We think that people who play Ring of Fates will find certain things to smile at when they play through Crystal Bearers, however.

Crystal Bearers was announced back in E3 2006 and is being created to focus more on the single player experience rather than multiplayer as founded in the original for the Gamecube. Square Enix’s WiiWare game, My Life as a King, will be released at the launch of the Nintendo WiiWare Service.
