Nintendo of Europe’s official website has made a write-up on details of Mario Kart Wii’s online component. Lets see how we can get our vehicles tuning!
Essentially, Mario Kart Wii takes the online elements of its DS predecessor and expands upon it. Using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, players will jump to online races, worldwide and continentally or with a group of friends. The first will allow you to join up with 12 other matched players looking for a race, show up in an existing group or be a spectator for a match to wait your turn to get onto the track.
Now the biggest inclusion is the ability to make matches with friends using a new component not founded in the DS game. After swapping Friend Codes with other players, you’ll be able to view how many of your buddies are online, or select them to join a match through Create a Room. Create a Room will include a globe which pinpoints the location of your friends, also giving everyone the ability to text chat each other. The Host has the jurisdiction to choose race settings through track selections are made upon votes from all players combined.
Even more, Mario Kart Wii will include its own channel for installation, letting the player check upon options without even loading the game disc in. Ranking will also be included, comparing your results with your friends and other players worldwide, who are represented by their Miis on the globe. From here, you can race against Ghosts of rivals to improve your driving skills and dexterity.
The Mario Kart Wii channel also has Competitions where Nintendo will host matches on a daily basis, inviting players to challenges similar to the missions founded in Mario Kart DS. You can view your rankings in the competitions and time trials, and also register friends if you so happen to spot them.
Mario Kart Wii is definitely shaping up well. You can view the Nintendo of Europe article right here.
