The upcoming Speed Racer video game is based off the Wachowski Bros. film adaption, which is set to release in June 2008. Below you’ll find the first details and screen shots of the Nintendo DS game.

Players will be competing in the World Racing League, facing off against 19 other racers in hair-raising race tracks in some of the most intense racing experiences ever. They’ll be driving the T180, a race car that can jump, flip and perform the craziest of maneuvers to eliminate the opponents in the competition.

In Speed Racer, there are 16 different drivers and car combinations to choose from and you’ll be racing in 19 tracks across seven unique environments. In the world of fantasy racing, speeds will exceed 300 mph, though you’ll still have to impressive the audience with wild stunts that can be performed with the touchscreen and stylus.
