Worldwide publisher and developer Eidos Interactive Ltd. has recently announced Death Jr.: Root of Evil for the Nintendo Wii, which is set to release in summer 2008.
In Root of Evil, players will assume the role of the Grim Reaper’s teenage son, Death Jr., as he and his friend Pandora must stop an evil spirit named Furi, whom they accidentally unleashed through school biology project. Death Jr. will team up with Pandora along with their group of misfit friends to stop this new evil.
Players will get the opportunity to play as either Death Jr. or Pandora, or even bring a friend for two-player cooperative play. In this 3D platformer, you’ll be hacking, slashing and shooting through 19 levels filled with over 30 unique enemies and bosses. At first, you’ll be handling their standard issued weapons such as the scythe and whip, but later upgradeable weapons will be available such as twin pistols and C4 hamsters. And since Root of Evil was originally a PSP game, the producers mentioned the Wii version will sport higher resolution textures and more polygons, additional voice acting, splitscreen for cooperative play, better user interface and the addition of 480p resolution and Dolby Pro Logic II audio support.
