Brash Entertainment is creating an new game based off an upcoming computer-animated film called Space Chimps, which is scheduled for a U.S release on July 18th on the Nintendo Wii, DS, Xbox 360 and Playstation 2.
The story puts players in the space boots of Ham, the grandson of the first chimp sent to outer space. He is recruits a band of crew members (who also happen to be chimps) and sets off on an exploration mission into space. After time, Ham III reaches a strange and peculiar alien planet ruled by an obscure but vile king. From then, your team gets completely intertwined with the evil king and an adventure of hair-raising proportions await them.
Space Chimps is a two-player game, so you can choose to play with either Ham III or his as one of his crew members, Luna. There are 13 levels in the game which includes three bosses and over 35 enemies from the Fluvian world to challenge your prowess. Also, players can unlock two multiplayer arenas by utilizing the chimpball or transversing on the back of Fluvians.
John H. Williams (Shrek and Shrek 2) and Barry Soonenfield (Men in Black) are producing the film adaption with Kirk De Micco producing it. It’ll be starring the voices of Andry Samberg, Stanley Tucci, Jeff Daniels, Cheryl Hines, Patrick Warburton, Kristen Chenoweth and Kenan Thompson. The game will release alongside the film on July 18th.
