XGen Studios Develops for WiiWare

Canadia-based XGen Studios just announced that they have received the status of an official Nintendo Wii developer and publisher, and is preparing an original title for the console’s WiiWare station.

XGen Studios is best known for its creations of flash games, compatible on internet browsers, and has mentioned their upcoming WiiWare game is “inspired by an existing cult classic” from the studio, offering a multiplayer component for up to four players. Another minor detail mentioned the “leveraging of the unique abilities of the Wii remote”.

“We can’t wait to show fans what we’re building,” said Jordan Dubuc, director of operations for XGen Studios. “The jump-in, jump-out casual style appeals to a broad audience for both quick and extended play sessions.”

The independent developer and publisher formed in 2003 and has had several titles appear on game portals including EA’s Pongo Network, MTV, Miniclip and Channel4.
