Nintendo has released a excerpt of information regarding its upcoming DS game, Professor Layton and the Curious Village (for the sake of repetition in such a long name: PLCV). Shall we journey about and lay eyes on this mystery?
The premises of PLCV takes place in the curious village of St. Mystere, where everyone is friendly, but secluded by puzzles to hide their most intimate (or materialistic, unknown…because its a secret!) secrets. Unfortunately, when a rich baron passed on to the afterlife, his will reveals a hidden treasure somewhere in a cache in the village.
Players will assume the role of Professor Layton, curious to find and uncover the many mind-boggling puzzles of St. Mystere, ranging from riddles to mazes. All of these puzzles will take advantage of the touchscreen so it can be handled by players of all skill levels; plus, new puzzles will be available to download via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Layton will take his wits and dexterous mind with him in order to solve all the mysteries and uncover the hidden treasure of the wealthy baron.
Outside the realm of gameplay, PLCV will have fully voice animated scenes, a lovable cast of characters and beautifully hand drawn art to make the game’s style fresh and appealing.
Professor Layton and the Curious Village will first be released in North America on February 18th. Other release dates are pending.
