Netherland-based developer Engine Software has announced that it has started its first game that’ll appear on Nintendo’s WiiWare Service. Codenamed, Project Bang!, Engine Software’s latest project will have addicting gameplay using the Wii remote functionality and a two-player battle mode.
Ruud van de Moosdyk, VP of Development at Engine Software: “We are very excited about our first game for the WiiWare service. When we acquired our official Wii license last year we already had several concepts written up that would be ideal for WiiWare, and Project Bang! is the first to actually go into production. We wanted to get rolling on this exciting new platform early on, and I am quite happy we are now on schedule to do just that. “
The WiiWare service, a brand new video game download service for the Nintendo Wii, has been confirmed to go live in March 2008. Being a major component to the Wii Shopping Channel, consumers are able to purchase downloadable content directly from there with Wii Points (aka, Nintendo currency).
Engine Software will reveal more information on their project, codenamed Project Bang! in the future. Till then, stay tuned with WiiDS for the latest news and updates!
