Japanese sales tracker Media Create has reported that the Nintendo DS has overtaken the Sony Playstation 2 in terms of overall sales in Japan.

The company has posted up the figures which makes the DS at the top with 20,954,157 units sold as opposed to the PS2 which inches closely with 20,901, 468 units sold. The holiday season was sure to have made this dramatic increase in sales. But then again, Sony’s console has already established the pinnacle in overall units with 120,000 sold.
