AM3 Brings New Download Service to DS

AM3 (known for their downloadable anime on the Gameboy Advance) has unveiled DSvision, the latest download service that promises to bring comics, books, magazines, anime, movies and television programs to the Japanese Nintendo DS.

Fully licensed by Nintendo and set for a Japanese release in 2008, DSvision will allow downloadable content onto the DS via special 512 microSD flash cards which will plug into the portable via a special USB reader. This package will become available to the public for 3,980 yen ($36) though the firm has considered to offer the adapter for free to subtract any barriers to the service altogether.

As for the content itself, nothing has been confirmed or announced, though AM3 hopes to have 300 titles available at launch, expanding to 10,000 titles by 2010. Pricing also wasn’t announced, but the firm expects the priciest of content to go for 1000 yen ($10). The service will go live in January 2008.
