With the release of Unreal Tournament 3 appearing around the corner, talk about the Unreal Engine 3 has been mustered up once again. This time, it has been confirmed by Epic Games’ Mark Rein that the engine is being ported onto the Nintendo Wii console. The appearance of this technology on the white box has been in question for quite sometime.
“I know one of our licensee who’s giving it a shot,” Rein said. “It’s their own port, in the same way Ubisoft brought Unreal Engine 2 to the Wii.”
Unreal Engine 3 is a widely used engine developed by Epic Games and has been founded in games such as Gears of War, Rainbow Six: Vegas and the upcoming Unreal Tournament 3. Its unknown what project on the Nintendo Wii will adapt the engine (or if it will work), but we’ll try to find out more news on the matter.
