Although most people probably don’t use the MP3 playback support in the Wii’s Photo Channel, as of next month you won’t be able to anymore as Nintendo are dropping MP3 support in favour for AAC support.

This will affect all Wii users after the next update, or if they opt to download the improved Photo Channel (version 1.1). There does not seem to be a reason as to why Nintendo have chosen to ditch support for one of the most popular digital music file types, but I’m sure that it’s for the best.
