Shin’en has just released a fact sheet, revealing sundry new information on their upcoming DS sequel, Nanostray 2. Look below for all the old school glory get ramped up!
The first improvements players will see immediately is the selection of various control schemes. No longer are they subject to the touchscreen as Nanostray 2 allows the possible: left-hand controls, right-hand controls and classic controls (D-pad and face buttons). Don’t think the touchscreen has been discluded as players will use the stylus to select different weapons onscreen (this isn’t mandatory as it can be set to the buttons too).
Gameplay wise, Nanostray 2 sticks with it’s normal guns with alternating camera angles between classic vertical viewmode to horizontal viewmode. But Shin’en has definitely stepped up in terms of difficulty as the settings of difficulty (repetition much?) change the actual gameplay, not only energy settings. Likewise, the game offers no unlimited continues and now players are subject to only five. There are 32 challenges to complete and Shin’en ensures that similar level designs won’t be regurgitated.
Other tidbits of new content stray away from the gameplay in terms of online rankings, visuals and audio. Instead of manually inputing the codes on the official website, it’ll automatically update your rank via Wi-Fi upload on the Nintendo ranking server. Nanostray 2’s soundtrack includes 20 energetic songs, there are finally voiceovers during cutscenes and the game includes some unique improvements to the design aspect.
Nanostray 2 is shaping up to be much superior to it’s predecessor.
