Iwata: Wii Goes to China and South Korea Next Year

During a news conference, President Satoru Iwata of Nintendo mentioned a plan that could benefit the escalating growth and success of their video game console.

“We suffer a global shortage of the Wii. Our responsibility now is to deliver as many consoles as we can to existing markets,” Iwata told a news conference. But next year, I think we can bring the Wii (to China).”

The global demand for the Nintendo Wii and DS are enormous and the company has raised it’s sales target to 17.5 million Wii (origianlly 16.5) units at the end of the fiscal year.
