Dark Sol is attacking, you must find the “Arms of Light” and the princess to help save the Kingdom of Thornwood.

If there is one thing I have about first-person rpgs, it is that navigating them can be hard because there are hardly any ways to distinguish where you are. Thus, it slows down significantly. Character and monster design are pretty good, however the palette swaps start early.

Music is pretty enjoyable, however the constant shift between dungeon and battle music is very high and very annoying. Aside from bumping into walls, attacking or selecting something from the menu, there is nothing really worth noting in the sound effects, which is perfect for a game like this.

This game is pretty short, though, figuring out the dungeon is a task unto itself, and will add many hours to the gameplay. Unlike other games of this type, the starting monsters are well within your ability to defeat, unfortunately you’ll be seeing a good number of them, since the encounter rate is pretty high.

If you are looking for a good game to get into, then Shining in the Darkness may be what you would like.
