After some cumbersome rushing, I caught up with CEO of EnjoyUp Games, Julio Moruno, to quickly chat up on their Sci-Fi action adventure game: Chronos Twins.
Cheng: Can you provide a brief description of Chronos Twins to the people who haven’t heard of the game?
Moruno: Chronos Twins goes into a fantastic World were we assume the role of Nec. He has the mission to free Skyla from Twine, an alien being able to exist on two different times at once in order to be invincible.
Cheng: How would Chronos Twins differentiate itself from other side-scrolling action games such as old school Metroid?
Moruno: Chronos Twins offer a new system in which we control the main character in two different temporal lines (past and present), Nec has the power of duplicate himself in time thanks to the Dual Time Machine. Also, the player will have to solve logic puzzles using the temporal changes and face original enemies
Cheng: Obviously the main aspect of the game is the separation of two very different time periods. How will the past coincide with the future and vice versa? What radical changes can we expect from alternating one time period to affect another?
Moruno: For example, the player can move objects in the past and this will affect to the present to be able to access to new zones, or destroy objects from the past in order to remove his existence on the present. And finally, another example is one of the bosses, he can control the scenery in order to send attacks from two times.
Cheng: The title is called Chronos Twins and players will be controlling Nec, the protagonist who must foil the attempts of a unknown terror from destroying the present world he resides in. Who is his twin brother (if he has one) and does he play an important role in the game?
Moruno: (laughs) Nec is only a person, he doesn’t have a twin. The association with the Twin word is due he can duplicate himself in the two times.
Cheng: What locations can the player expect to visit in the past and the future? I understand that setting the game in different time periods will bring a variety of levels and maps.
Moruno: In Chronos Twin are a variety of locations, from deserts, caverns, technological zones, etc. One of the more costly aspects of the game was the design for each level the elements for each time.
If that wasn’t enough insight for you guys, head over to our review section and check out what I thought of Chronos Twins.
