Last month, we reported on the announcement of TG-16 CD games appearing on the Wii’s Virtual Console in the near future. But now Hudson Soft has revealed the first two CD-based titles that will be heading to Nintendo’s download service.
The two games that’ll appear on the Virtual Console are Gate of Thunder and Super Air Zonk. Gate of Thunder is a side-scrolling shoot-em up which was originally released in 1992 and was a pack-in game for the TurboDuo in North America. Super Air Zonk is also a shoot-em up and is the sequel to the original Air Zonk (which you can check our review on our site). Developer Red Entertainment was behind both projects.
It has also been reported that Samurai Ghost, a non-TurboGrafx 16 CD game, will join the fray. This game involves players using a resurrected samurai to battle against the forces of evil (demons and monsters specifically).
Turbo CD games are told to be sold at 800 Wii Points while Samurai Ghost will still retain the price of an original TurboGrafx-16 game (600 points).
