Sonya and Arnold must use their powers as Shockman and repel the Ryo Empire to save earth.

Shockman deals in superb graphics. Its art is well done, with a few whimsical bits thrown into it, like taking damage or improperly executing a double shock attack.

The sound is decent, like the art, a good amount of work was put into it. While overuse of sound effects can be annoying, under use can also impact, such as charging a shock blast, as either it doesn’t have a sound or is impossible to hear over the background music, a sheer problem which often leaves me firing too soon or too late.

This is a lot like Megaman, however it is very difficult to beat since there is no password system of any sort, you only get one life, but to be fair you get as many continues as you’d like, but that means there are no check points at all until you finish the stage. One thing I do like is the 2-Player Co-op mode it uses, which is however more difficult to say the least. While you get the extra fire power, both players share the life bar, which means you get double the chance to get scrapped by an enemy.

The very hard difficulty tends to cause people to put it down quickly, however, with the infinite continues, you can just pick it up later and try, try again.
