The folks over at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia based developer Gamebrains has signed a development deal worth $11.6 million to develop games for the Nintendo Wii and DS systems.
Games will be in development on both platforms simultaneously, with staggered development of the titles over the duration of the project. According to the officials, we can ensure “well-known animated intellectual properties”. Gamebrains has also signed on with an unnamed publisher for worldwide publishing.
Other than the deal announcement, the company is shifting their team into a new 10,000 square foot headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, leaving their former offices in Petronas Twin Towers.
“These projects will ensure our continued presence as one of Southeast-Asia’s leading game developers, and drive our continued expansion for years to come,” said Brett Bibby, CEO of GameBrains.
The Gamebrains Studio opened up back in 1998, creating many well known projects such as Madden 2002, Paperboy and the Backyard Sports franchise. So look forward for some neat titles from these guys!
