WiiWare has caused quite a stir of buzz regarding the price of downloadable games. Wii owners can take a breather because Japanese publication Nikkei Business reported today tidbits of information about the system, including the range download prices.

The Japanese news service that Wiiware titles will initially focus on puzzle and edutainment genres (probably Brain Age-esque). Nintendo will later expand on games and work as a publisher for developers keen to have their game on the service. Third party publishers are expected to participate as well, though the numbers are unknown at the moment.

As for pricing, downloadable games will be expected to fall below 1,000 yen, or approximately $8 (US currency).
