Wii Expansion Plans Plundge

Nintendo’s expansion plans for Wii production, originally set in June, has been cancelled due to the short supply of components such as IC Chips and PCBs, says Taiwan-based component makers.

With the delay of its plans, any easing of the Wii shortages in the worldwide market is unlikely to be seen in the second half of 2007, said the component makers.

With a forecast of 16 million consoles shipped by the end of the year, will this cause a debacle for Nintendo?
