Opera Publishes API for Wiimote

Opera Software, the team behind the Wii internet channel, has just published the application programming interface for the Wiimote. This allows web programmers to design pages using JavaScript that can retrieve data from several Wiimotes altogether. Such information includes button presses, rotations, distance from the screen and pointer position. The actions are also compatible with the Nunchuck attachment.

Opera also mentioned that the API can be used to program simple games and to demonstrate that, they including this simple game. Further applications will hopefully make use of the API in the future.
