According to a press release, Capcom has announced a new Mega Man series that will debut on the Nintendo DS in three separate versions. Mega Man Star Force (Pegasus, Leo and Dragon) will light up the portable once again after 20 years in the gaming market.

The game puts you in the shoes of Geo Stelar, who must join forces with a mysterious ally to defeat aliens flooding the virtual world.

Very similar to the GBA Battle Network series, Star Force will blend fast-paced RPG elements and share two very different dimensions: the real world and the virtual Wave World. Players will be able to interact with NPCs in towns and other scenarios and fight intense battles with the toughest opponents. Returning from Battle Network is card-based battles on a three by five grid battlefield. Players will need to acquire the cards that work with their strategy and win the fight.
