Its a very exciting time for Singapore as they created their first Nintendo DS game, set to release worldwide at the end of the year.
Officially called Dropcast, it’ll feature a compiliation of puzzle titles such as Tetris and Bejewelled. For more addicting excitement, you can battle up to three other people via multiplayer WiFi. Mikoishi developed the game, and it had a budget of just $1 million.
Mr Seto Lok Yin, assistant chief executive (industry) of the Media Development Authority, said: ‘It goes to show that Singapore companies have what it takes to make their mark in the global game industry.’
Dropcast will reach Japanese shores during the winter season, with a North America and European release following a couple months later. This game is the first step for Mikoishi in video game development in Singapore.
