Midway Games Ltd. announced that it has secured European publishing rights for Myst on the Nintendo DS.

To those unknown of what this game is, Myst is an adventure game (which first landed on the Macintosh back in 1993) in which the player stumbles upon a book which ultimately warps him into a mysterious island world. Players can interact through a first-person perspective in the world with the unique point-and-click gameplay to uncover new locations and puzzles. The focuses mainly on puzzles, which is why there is no deaths, inventory or dialogue.

Leonie Manshanden, European Marketing Director, Midway Games Ltd, said, “Myst lends itself well to portable formats, as we saw from the PSP release. The DS will add an extra dimension using the touch screen, and the game matches this handheld’s expanding demographic perfectly.”

The release date is unconfirmed, but we’ll unearth that detail shortly!
