In the latest issue of Famitsu, Taito is planning to release a new entry of its famous Arkanoid series on the Nintendo DS in Japan. And as a bonus extra, the company is releasing a seperate “paddle” peripheral which can be implanted in the GBA slot of a DS handheld. But of course, the game can be played with the control pad or the stylus.

Arkanoid first debuted on the Atari back in the 1970s. In the game, you control a small vessel who must destroy the blocks spreaded all over the room you reside in. Its simple and there are a sundry of stages to compete in, each holding their own set of difficulty.

Expect Arkanoid DS (unofficial name) to be released in Japan on December 6th.
