Victorious Boxers: Revolution Comes to North America

A press release has revealed that Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting Revolution is heading to North American Wii consoles slated for a Fall 2007 release. Helming the name Victorious Boxers: Revolution, players will duke out intense fist fights fully utilizing the Wiimote and Nunchuck for a rich boxing experience.

Victorious Boxers is a huge franchise overseas at Japan, and Revolution just adds to the wealth with a robust amount of features. The story follows a small-time student, Ippo Makunouchi, who joins the boxing league to make a name for himself. The single player campaign is littered with cut-scenes, voice-acting and unlockable content. As for fighting itself, matches take place on a behind-the-shoulder perspective (kinda like Resident Evil 4), and players will use motion sensing for fighting as their means to victory. Revolutions allows three control schemes if you feel uncomfortable playing traditionally from waggle, point-and-click or just the virtual console controller.

Victorious Boxers: Revolution is the evolution of Wii Sports Boxing. It is unknown whether this boxing game will make it to European shores, even though it’s predecessors have. We’ll have more news on the matter.
