According to an announcement made by publishers 10Tacle Studios and 10Tacle Studios Mobile, Boulder Dash-Rocks is being recreated for the DS and PSP handhelds. Working with Tuna Technologies, this cult classic has received an extreme graphical overall from the original which was released back in 1984.
“To have the opportunity to work with one of the games responsible for so many of us entering the game industry is a great honour,” said Alex Amsel, Managing Director of Tuna Technologies. “We are really excited to be partnering with 10TACLE STUDIOS and First Star Software, and to co-develop what we feel will be a great addition to the Boulder Dash® series”.
The game puts you in the role of Rocksford, who must travel through tunnels and caves to collect jewels and diamonds while avoiding dangerous obstacles such as falling boulders and other natural disasters. The improved Boulder Dash-Rocks will still feature the same gameplay, but with a huge graphical update. Multuplayer and extra modes are included, which will come different depending on which platform you buy the game on.
Expect the game in Q4 2007.
