A jumble of numbers have been floating about in Nintendo’s favor lately. So here is how we’ll break it down.
Quarterly Earnings and Income
Nintendo has released their quarterly earnings report from a three month period (April-June) which stated an increase in the net profit to 90.63 million yen ending June 30th. The net income raised up to 80.3 billion yen as opposed to last year’s 15.5 billion yen and the full-year net income projection raised to 245 billion yen which is a 40% increase from last year.
Shipment of Units
During the current fiscal year (which will end of March 2008), Nintendo plans to ship 16.5 million Wii units and 72 million software units. In a previous forecast, the company had planned on shipping 14 million consoles and 55 million software units. The console has currently sold 9.27 consoles worldwide.
As for the DS, shipments have increased from 22 million to 26 million handhelds and will also ship 140 million software units. Nintendo DS sales have reached 47.27 million worldwide ending June 30th.
