Wii and DS Dominate the States

The NPD Group has just released the fixings on June hardware sales charts in the United States. Its quite obvious that both Nintendo systems came up on top in comparison to the competition.

During the month of sunny delight, the DS has sold a whopping 561,900 units with the Wii following in with 381,800 sold. Despite being a last-generation console, the Playstation 2 shines with 270,700 units sold (which is amazing in my opinion). The PSP seems to have made progress by selling 230,100 units with Microsoft’s Xbox 360 coming in fourth with 198,400 out the door. And ironically enough, the GBA outsells Sony’s big gun with 109,400 sold. And last but not least, the Playstation 3 with only 98,500 units sold.

The NPD Group has also released figures for software sales, where Nintendo reigns supreme once again.
