It has been reported that Mario Party 8 has become the fastest selling title in the series. The game has sold more than 550,000 copies in the U.S. since it’s May 29 release.

“The overwhelming response not only reminds us how much fans absolutely love the Mario Party franchise but also proves the unmatched ability of the Wii system to attract new players,” says George Harrison, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. “Wii users are keeping the Mario Party going strong.”

The latest entry boosts in Wiimote compatible mini games, new characters and brand new boards. Despite recieving poor reception (69% from Gamerankings), the game continues to satisfy all gamers alike. Expect the game in Europe in mid-July.
