Destination Software has acquired the licence to Betty Boop, to create video games based on the cartoon character.
“We’re delighted to be working with DSI,” said Ita Golzman, King Features Vice President, North American Licensing. “Betty Boop has been entertaining fans for more than 75 years, and given the popularity of gaming, we believe this is a terrific way to introduce her to new audiences.”
“It’s always exciting to see strong, female characters in video games, and Betty is the classic female cartoon star,” says Alison Kain, DSI’s Director of Marketing. “It’s exciting to take the spunk and personality of the classic Betty and create a very modern gaming experience. She really is a character for the whole family.”
Easily related to the game Diner Dash, Betty Boop: Double Shift allows the player to control Betty Boop through her restaurant services. As a waitress, you must seat customers, take their orders and always deliver the bill. The game utilizes the touchscreen for the gameplay, such as motioning Betty through the restaurant.
Double Shift will be released this fall.
