Collision Studios Will Crash Onto Wii

According to a job listing on Gamasutra, Collision Studios is seeking a console programmer to work on a title for the PS2 and Wii. What game it’ll turn out to be is still a mystery.

Job Description:

Collision Studios is looking for an experienced console programmer to work on a high profile action-adventure title for the PS2 and Wii. This is a general programmer position whose responsibilities will include working on tools and gameplay systems.

The applicant should be a creative and organized individual with an excellent knowledge of the development process from concept to final product completion.

Ideal Qualifications:
• Credited work as programmer on at least one shipped console title (multiple shipped console products or PS2/Wii experience is a bonus).
• Well versed in C/C++ cross-platform development.
• Computer Science degree, or equivalent game industry experience.
• A passion for making and playing innovative action oriented games.
• A proven team player and motivator.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with and maintain a positive working relationship with other team members.
• Work with a proven cutting edge existing multi-platform engine.
• Understand and provide “sanity checks” with artists and designers to ensure memory and performance limitations of target hardware are understood and adhered to.
• Understand and be able to conform to the standards setup by 1st party console manufacturers.
• Work with the team leads to determine coding tasks and schedule requirements.
• Collaborate with the team on various aspects of the game and be able to communicate effectively with less technical disciplines.
• Provide critical analysis of core technology and studio practices with the goal of improving game quality, team efficiency, and maintaining a positive studio culture.
