Although not officially confirmed for the Wii yet, the new controller for ‘Rock Band’ was recently shown off to the world via these internets and what a treat it seems to be.

The new guitar for the game (the 360 version is shown here) is an almost exact replica of the ‘Fender Stratocaster’ with 10 frets for rocking out with.

Although not yet officially announced for the Wii, Alex Rigopulos (CEO of Harmonix) might as well have by replying “absolutely” to the question in regards to a version for the elusive motion controller console. It would be silly not to release a version for the Wii considering their rival music title ‘Guitar Hero 3′ is to be out for both of Nintendo’s consoles later this year.

The ambitious Rock Band could be a little too much for the console however with its planned expansive online multi player modes requiring upto 4 players to be able to play together lag free. The system could become troublesome if Nintendo carry on forcing large strings of numbers down ours throats.
